Noah Marine is a seasoned government relations professional with experience serving as a senior staffer on Capitol Hill, at leading financial services trade associations, and a Fortune 100 company. He brings a deep understanding of the legislative process, coalition building, policy development, and strategic analysis, with a proven track record of advancing complex legislative and regulatory initiatives.
From 2011 – 2017, Noah was the legislative director for Representative Ed Perlmutter (D-CO), where he served as a senior advisor to the Congressman on the House Financial Services Committee. After Colorado passed Amendment 64 in 2012, he developed deep expertise on cannabis issues, drafted the SAFE Banking Act, and helped procure the 2014 guidance memos from the Department of Justice and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
Noah has a B.A. in political science from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a M.P.P. from the American University in Washington, D.C.
Nate Pollock is an accomplished tax and appellate attorney. Nate founded the tax controversy practice at SouthBank Legal, a boutique law firm focused on litigation. He represents clients at all stages of tax disputes with a particular focus on appellate litigation. Nate has filed dozens of briefs and argued more than 25 cases in U.S. circuit courts of appeals. Nate also has extensive experience with Section 280E of the Tax Code and a deep understanding of the federal tax challenges that cannabis businesses face. He advises cannabis businesses on tax issues and represents them in tax controversies.
Before joining SouthBank Legal, Nate was one of two senior level attorneys at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Tax Division’s Appellate Section, where he was tasked with handling the government’s most significant and challenging tax appeals. At the Department, Nate argued cannabis tax cases such as Patients Mut. Assistance Collective Corp. (Haborside) v. Commissioner, 995 F.3d 671 (9th Cir. 2021), and Standing Akimbo, LLC v. United States, 955 F.3d 1146 (10th Cir. 2020). He also briefed these and other Section 280E cases in the Ninth and Tenth Circuits and in the U.S. Supreme Court at the petition stage.
Nate graduated from Notre Dame Law School, magna cum laude, and clerked for the late Hon. Ruggero J. Aldisert on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
At KEY Investment Partners, Tiby is responsible for structuring and leading investment opportunities, developing the marketing and client relations initiatives, driving firmwide strategic initiatives, conducting due diligence on deal opportunities, driving proactive outreach for deal sourcing opportunities, and leading co-investment syndication processes. Erdely championed and led KEY’s first investment in BDS Analytics (‘BDSA’) and championed the formation of KEY’s advisory board. Erdely currently sits on the Board of Open Book Extracts, Katalys and Day Three Labs, KEY portfolio companies.
Prior to co-founding KEY, Tiby spent three years as a member of Partners Group’s (SIX: PGHN) client solutions team, where he was responsible for raising flagship funds and sourcing opportunities. While at Partners Group, Tiby worked with the various deal teams learning Partners Group’s approach to sourcing deals and conducting due diligence.
Prior to Partners Group, Tiby spent four years with Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS), working most recently for the Fundamental Equity team in Goldman Sachs Asset Management (‘GSAM’).
Tiby was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at San Antonio where he graduated with honors. In his free time, Tiby enjoys skiing, traveling, hiking and live music.
